This weekend, the company upped the ante and posted its famous guacamole recipe online for all to try and it was done just in time for Cinco de Mayo.
So here's how you make the dip.
You'll need:
- 2 ripe Hass avocados
- 2 tsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp cilantro (chopped)
- 1/4 cup red onion (finely chopped)
- 1/2 jalapeno, including seeds (finely chopped)
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt.
Once you get all of the ingredients, here's what you do.
The Chipotle chefs say cut the avocado in half and carefully remove the pit. Scoop them and put in a medium bowl. Toss and coat with lime juice. Add salt and mash until it is smooth, using either a fork or potato masher. Fold in remaining ingredients, mixing well.
They also suggest tasting the guacamole, in their words, over and over, and adjust the seasoning as necessary.
So how to do choose the best avocado? Chipotle said it should be "squishy, yet firm, like the palm of your hand."
