Mack, 28, who grew up in Fort Pierce and attended Westwood High School, paid all active layaway accounts this week at a Walmart in his hometown, TCPalm reported.

The store announced Mack's charity on its Facebook page late Friday.

The payment was made through the Khalil Mack Foundation, store manager Mathias Libardi said. It covered more than 300 layaway accounts, he said.

Libardi did not disclose how much was paid to cover the layaway accounts.

"His foundation came to us and said he wanted to be a secret Santa," Libardi told TCPalm.

Mack's charity has extended to his prep alma mater. Earlier this season, his foundation bought cleats for all of Westwood's players, according to TCPalm.
