Celebrity chef Carl Ruiz, dead at 44

Food Network celebrity chef Carl Ruiz has died, according to a recent tweet from Emmy Award-winning television personality Guy Fieri.

In a Sunday morning tweet, Fieri shared that Ruiz, the chef who appeared in "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," had passed away.

E! News said that the cause of death has not yet been released.

La Cubana, a restaurant Ruiz recently opened in New York, posted a tribute on Instagram:

Ruiz was also a judge on "Guy's Grocery Games," according to People.
