A Lake Worth, Florida, family fresh from a trip to the beach Monday came home to find chicken bones and empty beer bottles on their kitchen floor, their personal items scattered throughout the home and an unknown man asleep on their couch, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Jacob Miller, 22, was woken up by deputies and placed under arrest in the home on the 1100 block of South K Street. Once deputies removed Miller from the home, deputies found numerous items of jewelry on the man that belonged to the family as well as half-eaten food items all over the kitchen, according to the report.

Miller told deputies that he went into the home because he needed somewhere to stay, but refused to answer any other questions.

Miller remains in the Palm Beach County jail without bail on charges of burglary and theft. Deputies also discovered Miller has an open warrant in Texas for burglary, according to the report.

A mug shot for Miller was not immediately available.
