Could you open your heart to one of the dozens of bulldogs recently rescued from an alleged puppy mill in California?
A neighbor to the place where the dogs were being held called police last week to alert them to the situation. When police arrived, they said they found 78 French and English bulldogs with mange and urine burns on their paws, KNBC reported.
Some of the dogs appeared to have been kept in cages for days, and the smell from the property was so strong that some officers fell ill and had to leave the property.
They are being treated at Westminster Adoption Group and Services, or WAGS.
The dogs will soon have forever homes, as there have been more than 5,000 inquiries for their adoptions. But officers warn prospective families, the dogs will have health issues. Some may have skin, eye or ear problems. Others may have behavior issues as well since experts said they were neglected, KNBC reported.
