New York resident Brandon Bostian, 32, has been identified as the engineer on the Amtrak train that derailed in Philadelphia Tuesday night. The crash killed at least seven people and injured more than 200.

Seven cars fell off the tracks as the train took a sharp turn at 106 mph — more than double the speed limit for that section of the tracks.

Bostian was identified by law enforcement officials; he reportedly spoke with investigators after the crash when he was treated at a hospital but declined to make a formal statement to police and requested a lawyer.

ABC News reported that Bostian and his attorney “were meeting with federal accident investigators and other rail personnel” Wednesday afternoon.

According to his Linkedin profile, Bostian has worked for Amtrak as an engineer for more than four years; prior to that, he was a conductor for more than four years, according to the profile.
