Gideon Robinson is battling leukemia, but he is constantly supported by his family.
Robinson, whose nickname is "Iron," is also close to a nurse he calls, "Tall Sarah."
So close, in fact, that the 5-year-old has asked her to marry him.
KTLA reported that the boy's romantic proposal brought hospital staff to tears.
In the Rady Children's Hospital lobby, Robinson got on one knee and, with encouragement from his mother, popped the question.
"Of course you can be my hospital husband," the nurse said.
"As far as the getting on the knee and saying, 'Will you marry me,' he probably caught that on TV or something. I have no idea," mom Sosy Robinson said.
Gideon said he wasn't nervous and he wanted to marry Sarah because he wants to make her laugh "because she thinks I'm such a funny boy," he said.
Gideon asked Sarah to marry him with a proposal that brought the staff at Rady Children`s Hospital in San Diego to tears.
