An East Alabama 4-year-old has died eight days after falling from a toy wagon while inside a Birmingham hospital.

AL.com reported the Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the boy as Noa Vera of Anniston.

According to WIAT, Vera was attending an Oct. 2 dental clinic inside Children's of Alabama when the fall occurred.

After falling from the red wagon, a longtime fixture among Children's hallways in Birmingham, Vera was taken to the facility's emergency room before being transferred to the intensive care unit, the station reported.

AL.com reported Vera sustained a head injury as a result of what appears to be an accidental fall and died in the ICU on Oct. 10.
