Billy Bush taken off 'Today' for role in Trump's crude comments

Billy Bush was suspended from the "Today" show for his role in the lewd comments made by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in 2005.

Bush has been on the show for two months and hosts the third hour.

"There is simply no excuse for Billy's language and behavior on that tape," Today" executive producer Noah Oppenheim said in a memo Sunday.

Bush was host on "Access Hollywood" when he was aboard a bus with Trump when the crude conversation took place. At the time, it was believed to have been a private conversation.

Bush has apologized for his role in the remarks and deleted his Twitter account.

Bush is suspended “pending further review of the matter,” Openheim said.
