Talk about having a sweet tooth. A hungry bear recently broke into a Colorado pie shop for a quick dine-and-dash, devouring dozens of desserts.
According to KDVR and KUSA, the furry fugitive burst through the window of the Colorado Cherry Company in Pinewood Springs overnight Monday. The intruder made himself at home, sneakily diving into the pies without being caught by the surveillance camera, which was pointed in the other direction.
The bear reportedly scarfed down 24 cherry pies, 14 apple pies, sugar and cocoa before taking off, leaving behind a huge mess and a trail of sugar and cherries.
Oddly enough, the bear seemed to have discriminating tastes.
"He passed over the strawberry rhubarb,” owner Kristi Lehnert told KDVR.
“Maybe he wasn’t feeling like a tart pie, I guess,” added Lehnert's daughter, Mikaela.
The staff has boarded up the window to keep the unwanted visitor from returning for another binge.
