Three people were killed in overnight shootings including two people shot by Austin police officers, according to preliminary reports.
At the Omni Austin Hotel Downtown Austin, Texas, authorities said officers shot and killed a suspect who they said fatally wounded a hotel guest. Officials said the shooting happened in the lobby.
The other shooting happened in North Austin near the 10600 block of Golden Quail Drive, south of Kramer Lane, after police were asked to check on the welfare of an individual. Authorities say that when officers arrived, a man raised a weapon at the officers, who shot and killed him.
