A California animal rescue group took a neglectful owner to task in a viral Facebook post for abandoning a dog along a dirt road.
Banjo, as the dog is now known, was found freezing, hungry and left on the side of the road for days, according to a post from the Kings SPCA-Rescue.
"He hadn't left the place you made him stay. He was being a good dog," they wrote in a post with a video Jan. 4. "He stayed close to the last place he saw his favorite person in the world. He thought you were coming back. He was watching every car that would come down the road hoping it was you coming back for him."
Many people already have asked about adopting him, according to ABC 7.
"He won't be waiting for you anymore," the Kings SPCA-Rescue wrote.
