Instead, flight attendants will be instructed to say, "Hello everyone," and similar gender neutral greetings when addressing passengers, according to a company email sent to Air Canada employees.

"We work hard to make sure all employees feel like valued members of the Air Canada family, while ensuring our customers are comfortable and respected when they choose to travel with us," an Air Canada media representative told CTV.

La Presse, a French-language Canadian news outlet reported that the move complements new Canadian government regulations that allow citizens to choose gender X on official identification documents.
