Afraid of bugs? Stay away from one Illinois town

It could have been a scene right out of the Bible, but it wasn't locusts, but rather a plague of mayflies that had police in Illinois issuing warnings.

According to the Havana Police Department's Facebook page, a mayfly swarm turned a bridge treacherous.

Police said the bugs had piled themselves 6 inches high, making the bridge deck very slippery. Motorcyclists crashed and cars were stuck in the center of the bridge.

One of the police cruisers was coated in the creepy crawlies.
