Reba McEntire announced the list of nominees for this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards Wednesday, but it is who is missing that has the star upset.
Entertainer of the Year is a male-only category this year.
McEntire, who is slated to be host for the awards show, said after the announcement, "It doesn't make me very happy because we've got some very talented women out there who are working their butts off," The Nashville Tennessean reported.
Later she said, “I’m missing my girlfriends on this list.”
McEntire has nine Entertainer of the Year nominations under her belt, and has one once in 1994.
This isn't the only time a woman has been snubbed for country music top honors, The Tennessean reported. No women were included in CMA Awards' same category. Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton and Jason Aldean also nominated for CMA's Entertainer of the Year.
As for the other categories, the nominees are as followed:
The awards ceremony will be held on April 7.
