Donald Trump's children won't be able to vote for father in primaries

Two of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's children won't be voting for their father in the closed Republican primary in New York.

It's not because Eric and Ivanka Trump are pulling for another candidate.

They missed the Oct. 9, 2015, deadline to register with the party.

"They had a long time register and they were, you know, unaware of the rules, and they didn't register in time, so they feel very, very guilty," Trump said in a interview with "Fox and Friends" on Monday morning. "But it's fine. I mean, I understand that.

"I think they have to register a year in advance and they didn't. So Eric and Ivanka, I guess, won't be voting."

If Trump's children regsitered with a party now, it would not apply until the first Tuesday after the 2016 general election.
