People reported that a social media campaign encouraging citizens to donate to Planned Parenthood in Pence's name has taken off.

The campaign began in response to Pence winning the election, since the Indiana governor has a history of working to defund Planned Parenthood. In 2011, Pence put out a bill that would ban federal funding for the organization, but it did not pass.

Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization that provides affordable reproductive health services, according to its website.

The Indianapolis Star reported that 12.5 percent, or 20,000, of the 160,000 donations to Planned Parenthood in the last week have been in Pence's name, according to a spokesperson.

Katy Perry, Amy Schumer and other celebrities are among those donations.

"We've been blown away by the support we've received. Many people are donating in Clinton or Pence's name," Planned Parenthood said in a tweet Saturday thanking donors.
