Police charge second suspect in fatal Tuscaloosa, Alabama, shooting

Police have arrested a second person in connection with a fatal weekend shooting of a 19-year-old man in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The shooting happened early Saturday, when Versaun Leonard was shot and killed about 12:14 a.m. Police, according to WRBC, arrested Brenygha “Bre” Tatyana Mashaye Edwards, 22, for capital murder.

On Tuesday, police said Edwards’ charge had been changed to felony murder, and that Justin Jenkins, 21, has been charged with capital murder.

Police are also investigating another shooting that happened at the Branscomb Apartments in Tuscaloosa County on Friday night. That shooting left two people injured. It is unclear if the two shootings are related.
