Nicki Minaj is reportedly a mother.
E! News reported the rapper gave birth Sept. 30 in Los Angeles. People also reported the news, citing an unnamed source. The baby’s gender has not been announced.
TMZ reported Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, was by her side as she gave birth. This is their first child together.
In July, the 37-year-old announced her pregnancy on social media with a series of images, including one taken by photographer David LaChapelle.
“#Preggers,” she captioned the first post with a yellow heart emoji.
She followed up the post with a few more images and said she was “overflowing with excitement & gratitude.”
Minaj and Petty married in October 2019. Around that time, she tweeted that she wanted to retire from rapping to focus on her family.
“I’ve decided to retire and have my family,” she wrote in a since-deleted September 2019 tweet. “I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box—cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.”
Barbz freaked out, hoping she was kidding. A day later, she apologized for the “abrupt & insensitive” tweet.
