A 4-year-old boy fatally shot himself Friday night after finding a gun while visiting his grandmother, authorities said.

Four-year-old Kameron Ross of Warner Robins was killed in the accidental shooting, The Telegraph of Macon reported. The boy was visiting his grandmother in Macon when the accident occurred, according to the coroner’s office.

The sheriff office said the boy found a firearm inside an apartment and “accidentally shot himself.”

Investigators said they believe the gun was brought into the apartment by two teens, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, who live there.

The child’s grandmother, Kawana Liggins, 50, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence. The two teens were interviewed and released into the custody of family.
