One woman is dead and five others were wounded — four of them children — after a gun battle in a Birmingham, Alabama, park on Easter Sunday.

An argument between two groups of men at W.C. Patton Park about 7 p.m. erupted into an argument that led to more than 30 gunshots fired, according to police.

Areyelle Yarbrough, 32, of Bessemer, Alabama, was found lying on the ground just outside the passenger door of her vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Among the five others shot were one adult and four children ranging from age 5 to 17, police said. All are listed as stable.

“At the time the shooting occurred, hundreds of people were gathered at the park celebrating the Easter Holiday when gunfire erupted,” Birmingham police said in a written statement.

No arrests have been made.
