The new year is off to a somber start for the capital of middle Georgia.

On Wednesday night, Macon’s third homicide victim in as many days was found lying in the middle of a city intersection.

Jahfari Shakwun Bullard, 19, of Macon was found at Ferguson and Lamar streets, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Police found Bullard’s body while responding to an aggravated assault 911 call about 9:30 p.m.

Bullard had been shot in the torso. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

"We've had three homicides in three days," Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones told the Macon Telegraph.

On Monday, Michael Alvin Lewis, 37, also of Macon, was found shot to death in a yard along Forest Hill Road. He’d been shot in the back and chest.

The next night, another Macon man, Norbert Volmar Jr., 36, was found shot dead at a boarding house on Roy Street by another resident. He had been shot in the head.
