4 treated after 13-car pileup on I-285 in Clayton Co.

Four people were taken to the hospital after a 13-car pileup that shut down part of the west Inner Loop at Riverdale Road for more than three hours Friday.

The accident led to heavy backups on I-285, but those delays thinned after all lanes opened about 10 a.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

Clayton County police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said the people taken to the hospital did not have visible injuries. Their conditions were not known.
