A woman was injured Wednesday morning when her car collided with a fire vehicle in a downtown Atlanta intersection.
The wreck happened at Edgewood Avenue and Bell Street.
“They were on a fire call and were only about two blocks from the fire station,” Atlanta fire Battalion Chief Kevin Roberts told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “They came through the intersection and everything was clear, and the next thing they know, they were struck by a Honda Accord.”
The Honda driver was conscious and alert, “but she did have some back pain,” Roberts said. “There was a lot of damage to her car, but very minimal damage to our apparatus.”
No firefighters were hurt, he said.
Atlanta fire spokeswoman Janet Ward said the Honda driver was charged with failure to yield. Her name was not immediately available.
