A motorcycle driver was killed in a collision with a car in Cobb County on Thursday night.

Cobb police said a 2004 Kia Optima was westbound on Windy Hill Road around 6:30 p.m. trying to turn left onto southbound Favor Road. At the same time, a 2008 Kawasaki ZX600 motorcycle was eastbound on Windy Hill.

As the driver of the Kia was making a left turn, police said, she was struck on the passenger side door by the motorcycle.

The drive of the motorcycle was dead at the scene. He has not yet been publicly identified pending notification of family.

The driver of the Kia, Maria Howard, 50, of Marietta, and her 15-year-old daughter, who was a passenger in the front seat, were taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
