The mother of a 20-year-old Paulding County man murdered in his home in February 2014 is trying to raise reward money to spur an arrest and conviction of whoever killed her son.

Detectives have not come up with any “credible leads,” Paulding County sheriff’s Cpl. Ashley Henson said in an email, and authorities hope that media attention might generate information that could help solve the case. They forwarded to media outlets a plea for help letter written by Beverly Collum, whose son Cody Bryant was killed.

Authorities say Bryant was shot in the head while he slept in his home on Ivey Gulledge Road.

“I truly can’t believe it has been a year since my son was taken away from me and my family,” Collum wrote in the letter. “… Losing a child feels like losing a part of you. The only thing that will get me through these difficult times is prayer.”

Anyone who wishes to give reward money can donate to The Cody Bryant Fund at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org, she said.

“Please continue to pray for me and my family,” Collum said. “We truly need closure to my son’s death.”
