The Alabama man who failed to stop for police officers and then crashed while exiting I-285 is facing numerous charges for the incident, Sandy Springs police said Wednesday.

Anthony Reed Eden, 43, of Smiths Station, Ala., was charged with one count of felony burglary, speeding, reckless driving, fleeing/eluding, failure to maintain lane, failure to secure a load and emergency lane violation, Sgt. Ron Momon said.

On Tuesday, Eden was charged with attempting to elude officers after crashing a Ford-150 truck, according to police.

Police were responding to a suspicious vehicle call on Riverside Drive when a burglary call was received in the same area. An officer tried to stop a truck at Riverside Drive and I-285 and the driver took off eastbound on I-285 before crashing while exiting Glenridge Drive, according to police.

Investigators were working to determine whether items found inside the truck had been stolen, Momon said. Eden, who suffered minor injuries, was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police said Eden is wanted on vehicle theft charges by authorities in Columbus, Ga., and in Seminole County, Fla.
