Jeff Keane, who illustrates the Family Circus, is a friend, and his characters are so wholesome. Mike enjoyed imagining this scene in his cartoon family’s household.

When N.Y. Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned after a prostitution scandal, Mike wondered why his wife stood beside him and imagined this went on behind the scenes. (March 2008)

Mike says it was fun to draw two Arnolds, one as a bodybuilder and one as the Terminator. He has such an unusual face. (May 2011)

Mike did two cartoons about Arnold Schwarzenegger in one day after the news broke that he had fathered a love child. This cartoon ran online. (May 2011)

Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina was caught lying when he disappeared for a six days with his mistress. His wife soon divorced him. (July 2009)

Edwards finally came clean about having a love child. His campaign had been about two Americas – the haves and have-nots, so Mike adapted that. (January 2010)

Edwards eventually went on trial for violating campaign laws related to the affair. The mirror was a last-minute addition to the cartoon. (May 2012)

Over the years, Mike has moved from drawing plain boxer shorts to decorating the underwear with big hearts. (May 2011)

Mike says: While Newt was running for the GOP nomination, he had to spend some time explaining his past. (March 2011)

When Bill Clinton gave a State of the Union address, the Monica Lewinsky scandal had just broken and Clinton had declared, ‘I did not have sexual relations with that woman.’ (January 1998)

The ‘infamous blue dress’ believed to show evidence of a liaison. (August 1998)

During Bill Clinton’s Senate impeachment trial, no one involved looked dignified. Monica Lewinsky had flashed a thong at Clinton at the start of their relationship. (January 1999)

One of Hillary Clinton’s earlier works was ‘It Takes a Village.’ Mike couldn’t resist a parody of the title when she published her memoirs. (May 2003)

When the Clinton presidential library opened, Mike had the idea of using a zipper. Scandals have a way of living on past their expiration date, Mike notes. (November 2004)

This is one of Mike's favorite Clinton cartoons -- on Chelsea’s wedding. Mike liked that you don’t see Bill or the bridesmaids, so the reader could fill in the blanks. (July 2010)

A former John F. Kennedy intern wrote a book claiming she had an affair with him nearly 50 years ago. Mike took the lines from JFK’s famous inaugural address and turned them around. (February 2012)
