Two men, one of whom is currently serving a prison sentence, have been charged with murder in connection to a December 2012 shooting death, Atlanta police announced Thursday night.
Darrell Walker, 30, is the latest suspect facing a murder charge for the death of Joe Louis West, who was found with a gunshot wound in his back in the 300 block of Skipper Place on Dec. 21, 2012.
Toney Walton, 27, was charged in the case last month, police said. He is currently in prison on unrelated charges, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Ralph Woolfolk said.
Walker was taken to the Fulton County Jail on Wednesday and booked on charges of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with intent to murder, and kidnapping, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said.
Bond was denied for Walker during a first appearance hearing Thursday. His next hearing has been set for Jan. 22, Flanagan said.
