The Edward Barnsley ’86 Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) student Georgia Brieske. The award was presented to Georgia by Diana Barnsley Fleming, a 1989 IHM graduate and Edward Barnsley’s sister. Georgia, a rising eighth grader, was chosen based on her aptitude for and interest in creative writing. Georgia received a $1,000 scholarship. Her name is inscribed on a plaque in the school lobby. Edward’s mother, Diane Barnsley, endowed the scholarship. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School serves 500 students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Established in 1958, the school enjoys a long tradition of success developing the values of faith, knowledge, service and integrity.
