Two men wearing masks and armed with handguns robbed a Macon post office Friday afternoon then escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the robbery happened around 1:15 p.m. at the Post Office at 1040 Pio Nono Ave.

Reports say the suspects, who wore dark colored hoodies and bandanas to cover their faces, walked into the branch with guns drawn. One of them demanded money from a desk clerk.

Witnesses reported the two men fled to a waiting car, described to be a red Honda with dealer plates.
