UPDATE: MARTA’s Ashby station, closed for nearly five hours to accommodate the investigation of a stabbing inside the station, has reopened. Service is available both eastbound and westbound, but only from the westbound platform.

ORIGINAL REPORT: MARTA’s Ashby station is closed and served by a bus bridge while authorities investigate a stabbing that followed a fight that started outside the station in late morning Saturday.

One man was taken to Grady hospital with non life threatening injuries and another is in custody after the fight, which begin outside the station and moved inside to the eastbound platform about 10:50 a.m., according to MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris.

Harris said trains are moving through the closed station with service being provided by bus bridge to the adjacent Vine City and West Lake stations.

The station will reopen at the conclusion of the investigation.
