A Marietta man died a short time after being struck by a car Wednesday evening.
According to Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce, the collision happened just after 7 p.m. on South Cobb Drive at Bearden Drive in Marietta. Leobardo Carcamo Ronquillo was walking in or crossing the roadway outside the crosswalk when he was struck by a black 1997 Toyota Camry.
Ronquillo was taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital but died a short time later as a result of his injuries.
Pierce said no charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the Camry, who stopped his vehicle just north of the collision site shortly after the incident.
