Mansion Once Priced At $40 Million Finally Sold

The 32,000 square-foot north Fulton County mansion, once known as the biggest house in Atlanta, has a new owner. And it only took 15 years and a $25 million price reduction to seal the deal.

Construction on the home was completed in 1992.

It's known as Dean Gardens.

The property features several other cottages too.

Christoper Dean, a design student at the time, handled the interior design of the estate.

Bill Harrison designed the home.

Dean Gardens also houses a wedding chapel, an amphitheater, a grass tennis court and numerous gardens. It also backs up to the river.

The home was the dream of software entrepreneur Larry Dean and his wife, Lynda.

If you've ever driven down Old Alabama in North Fulton County, you probably recognize this home.

It's hard to miss this massive estate.

Dean describes the house as a neo-classical style home.

Jason Dean, one of two listing agents on the property and the son of former property owners Larry Dean and former wife Lynda, said he could not elaborate on the future of the property, because of a confidentiality agreement with the buyer.
