A man was caught with nearly two dozen fraudulent credit cards and a skimmer device last week, police said.

Alpharetta police said they were tipped off to the alleged fraud after Dante Hawkins tried to use an illegal card at the Apple store at Avalon on Old Milton Parkway, Channel 2 Action News reported.

After a worker notified police, officials found a treasure trove of 23 credit and debit cards containing various names, according to the news station. They also recovered a card skimmer.

“That when they steal a credit card, they're able to run the card through the skimmer, potentially get that person's information and make charges on those cards,” Alpharetta police spokesman Sgt. Howard Miller told Channel 2.

Detectives are now looking for any victims in the case.

“Keep track of your credit cards, and if they're stolen or missing, make sure you report that,” Miller said.

According to a police report, Hawkins is in the U.S. Army.
