A 42-year-old man was struck and killed by a motor home early Tuesday as he walked on I-75 in Bartow County, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Bobby S. Morris, 42, of Rockmart, died at the scene after being hit around 3 a.m. near mile marker 298, according to investigators.

The driver of the motor home, David Slitti, 69 from Carleton, Mich., was traveling north on I-75 and moving from the center lane into the right lane, when he struck Morris, the GSP said. Slitti said he did not see Morris until impact and struck the pedestrian with the front of the vehicle.

It was not known why Morris was walking on the interstate.

Slitti stopped at the scene. No charges are expected in the case, the State Patrol said.
