A fight outside a northwest Atlanta nightclub led to a double shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured, authorities said.

The fatal shooting happened about 8 p.m. Friday outside Club Crucial along Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Atlanta police said in a statement. Investigators believe three people who knew each other were involved in an argument that led to gunfire.

“It appears the dispute escalated and one of the males produced a firearm and shot the female and other male,” Atlanta police said.

The man, later identified as 29-year-old Brant Harper, died at the scene. The injured woman was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive. Police said they were still working to identify the shooter Saturday morning.
