The 31-year-old man shot and killed at a MARTA bus stop in front of his young daughter late Tuesday was himself a person of interest in an October shooting that left a man dead.

According to Channel 2 Action News, police in College Park wanted to question Dantavious Chatman about a triple shooting on Oct. 29 in a neighborhood off Old National Highway that left 32-year-old Xavier Barnes dead.

Chatman was shot several times late Tuesday night while waiting at MARTA bus stop on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway.

Chatman and his 3-year-old daughter had just left his mother’s home and were on their way to his home off Jonesboro Road when he was killed, according to family members. The girl was not injured by the gunfire.

A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Chatman's killer.

Chatman had not been charged in connection with the October shooting. Attempts by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Friday to contact College Park police for further details on the investigation into that incident were unsuccessful.
