Marietta police Friday were interviewing witnesses and trying to determine what led to a shooting late Thursday night that left a man dead.

Officers responding to a 10:45 p.m. report of shots fired and a person down found the victim in a cul-de-sac on Bellemeade Way, in a neighborhood off Powder Springs Road, according to Marietta police spokesman David Baldwin.

“We’re trying to put all the pieces together,” Baldwin told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution early Friday. “Right now, we don’t have much to go on.”

The identity of the man killed has not been released.
