Police believe the man found dead in the woods behind a DeKalb County home Wednesday morning was the victim of homicide.

DeKalb County police Capt. S.R. Fore told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the body of a man who appeared to be in his 20s was found about 8:15 a.m. in the woods behind 499 Prince of Wales. The man died from apparent gunshot wounds, Fore said.

Foul play is suspected and the death is expected to be ruled a homicide, Fore said. As of Wednesday afternoon, the victim’s identity had not been confirmed.

No further information was immediately available.
