A man was badly burned Friday in an early morning condominium fire in Gwinnett County, authorities said.

Gwinnett fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said the blaze broke out before 1:30 a.m. in the single-story, four-unit building on Deerings Lane near Peachtree Corners.

“All occupants were outside the building when the fire department arrived,” Rutledge said. He said one man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening burns.

No other injuries were reported.

Rutledge said the blaze caused heavy damage to the unit where the fire started and extensive smoke damage to two adjoining units.

Four people were displaced by the fire, he said. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
