“Love & Hip Hop: New York” stars Erica Mena and Safaree have been gushing over the pending arrival of their first child together the last few months. On Monday, Safaree confirmed their daughter was born Sunday.
The producer and lyricist made the announcement on his Instagram page Monday afternoon. He shared a photo of what appeared to be his hand held by a tiny newborn hand.
He posted the image with the caption: “These past 24 hrs have been an adventure to say the least!! I’m a part of the #girldad club now 🙏🏾. Perfection is here ❤️.”

In an Instagram story, the 38-year-old apologized about missing out on a Rhode Island event in which he was scheduled to make an appearance. He said he had to cancel after learning Mena’s water broke.
“Sorry to everyone who came out to see me in Rhode Island last night,” he captioned the text photo. “But as I was getting ready to leave my wife's water broke.”
The two television personalities got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2018, and last October they confirmed they were married. The marriage announcement came days after the announcement that Mena was carrying the couple’s first child. Mena, who first appeared on the “Love & Hip Hop” franchise in 2011, has one other child, King Conde.
Mena, 32, had not yet announced her daughter's birth via social media, but she had been posting several updates on her Instagram page throughout the pregnancy, including a post over the weekend in which she joked she was "11 months pregnant."
Mena and Safaree, whose full name is Safaree Samuels, were in public relationships before their union. Mena was once engaged to Atlanta rapper Bow Wow, which was chronicled as a tumultuous relationship by the media. Samuels dated rapper Nicki Minaj for several years.
