The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Jan. 7 regular meeting to table a proposed ordinance amendment which staff said would clarity the requirement for a second entrance to a single-family residential subdivision with more than 50 lots.

A perceived conflict in the unified land development code with the international fire code, which puts the threshold at 30 lots for a second emergency vehicle entrance to a subdivision, led county staff to present the modification. After more than 30 minutes of discussion, concerns raised by some commissioners led to the decision to table the item for reconsideration at a future date.
