The subject of a recent “arrest” in Middle Georgia did not fit the profile of a typical criminal.

It had a long tail, walked on all fours and was covered in scales. And the 4-foot alligator had no business in Central City Park in Macon on Monday, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office told The Telegraph.

It took everything to take the reptile down. Electrical tape. A catch pole. And all the strength a deputy could muster.

“You’re under arrest,” a parks employee joked after the deputy got the alligator down and an animal welfare worker wrapped tape around its snout.

Officials loaded the gator, which kept writhing, into an truck and took it to a nearby swamp, the newspaper reported.
