Get your shamrocks and favorite shade of green ready, leprechauns. Colony Square is hosting its annual “Luck of the Square” event featuring live music, beer, free food and family-friendly activities.

This year’s event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday during the 137th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. The day’s festivities will begin 10 a.m. at Colony Square plaza for the fifth annual 5K, which starts at Colony Square and ends at the corner of Peachtree and 14th streets.

Shortly after the race, spectators can enjoy the parade, which begins at noon and will feature the Big Idaho Potato Truck, a traveling vehicle that promotes the Idaho potato across the nation.

This year marks seven years since the truck made its first trek across the U.S. A hot potato contest will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday for a chance to ride in the “world’s largest potato on wheels” during Saturday’s parade.
