This holiday season, metro Atlantans can shop on Amazon and make charitable contributions to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Reserve Branch at the same time — at no extra cost to them.

The nonprofit Reserve organization, which is an assembly of certified deputies who volunteer their services to promote public safety in the county, has partnered with the retail site's initiative Smile.Amazon. The website allows shoppers to donate .5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charity of their choice.

Raised funds will be used for the Reserve to buy administrative and training equipment and to cover operational expenses, according to a news release.

The announcement comes in time for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when many people take to the internet to score deals on gifts.

All shoppers need to do is click on the customized link on the Reserve's website, and then shop as normal.
