An 18-year-old Stone Mountain man was killed late Sunday in a fiery, single-car crash in DeKalb County, police said.

About 11:30 p.m., officers responded to an accident involving a silver Acura, DeKalb police Maj. Stephen Fore said.

The car was traveling north on South Hairston Road when it left the roadway at the intersection with Mainstreet Park Drive. The Acura hit a curb, a traffic engineering control box, a rock wall and a tree before going up in flames, Fore said.

Officers found John Morrison Jr. dead inside the car, he said.

The accident remains under investigation.
