An 18-year-old Canton man has been arrested in connection with several church burglaries, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.

Justin Riffle was arrested July 29 and remains in the Cherokee Adult Detention Center on $22,400 bond. He is charged with burglary and vandalism to a place of worship.

Authorities said three church were burglarized in northern Cherokee County recently, and a fingerprint lifted at Hillside Community Church in Waleska led to Riffle.

Detectives said they believe Riffle was not working alone and may have been involved in two more church break-ins in Ball Ground and Waleska.

The estimated damage to the three churches is less than $5,000 combined, according to Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

Riffle also recently had several guitars that investigators believe were stolen and sold to pawn shops.

Anyone with information on the case should call investigators at 770-928-0239.
