Residents and those who work near Technology Park in Peachtree Corners may be able to enjoy a leisurely stroll around a portion of Technology Park Lake by the end of this year.

Assuming weather cooperates, work is expected to begin this fall on a new 1/3-mile portion of the trail that will connect to the existing multi-use trail along Technology Parkway and Technology Parkway South creating a loop. The new section consists of a 12-foot concrete greenway, a precast concrete boardwalk and three pedestrian plazas. The plazas will serve as resting spots along the trail and will include granite seat walls and trash receptacles. Plans also feature an overlook platform to view the 15-acre Technology Park Lake.

The work is part of the first phase of the city’s plans for a multi-use trail system that will crisscross throughout the city. When complete, it will offer residents 11.5 miles of walking and bicycle trails that will connect to shops, restaurants, office parks, the Town Center and other locations throughout the city. The trail system is a long-range project that is expected to be complete in 2024.

If all goes as planned, this newest portion of the trail will be complete by the end of the year.
