The city of Woodstock has announced it will begin reopening to the public the day after Georgia's COVID-19 public health emergency ends, with park playgrounds and City Hall Annex among the first to reopen on Thursday, May 14.

At Monday’s City Council meeting, City Manager Jeff Moon said the city will start increasing staffing at City Hall Annex, 12453 Highway 92, on May 4, with all employees returning May 11 and the building, reopening to the public on May 14.

But the Woodstock Summer Concert Series is in flux, as the July headliner, Christopher Cross, has contracted COVID-19 and has canceled his 2020 tour. Moon said staff is working on the concert schedule and should have more information soon.

May court dates have been rescheduled to June, when the city should return to normal operations, Moon said; the timing will be reevaluated as the date draws closer.

The William G. Long Senior Center, 223 Arnold Mill Road, will remain closed at least through May 13; a decision on its reopening will be forthcoming.
